RSL Hervey Bay Signs on as Buccaneers Major Sponsor
Wide Bay Buccaneers are proud to announce the Hervey Bay RSL as their major club sponsor for the 2018 Season. The Buccaneers will be fielding seven teams in the Football Queensland Premier League from Under 13 to Senior Men.
The Hervey Bay RSL has a long history of supporting their community, particularly in building a healthier lifestyle through the funding of sport. This is their most significant contribution to football in the Wide Bay and will ensure that talented players are given the opportunity to grow in their sport.
FQ Wide Bay General Manager, Peter Guest has welcomed the commitment made by the Hervey Bay RSL. “For too many years our footballing community has been cut off from the representative pathway that has been available to areas of higher populations within Australia. The establishment of a Wide Bay team in the Queensland Premier League is the missing steppingstone in the pathway from Community Football to Professional Football”.
General Manager for the RSL, Jason Lynch is excited by their partnership with the Buccaneers. “The Hervey Bay RSL has always invested in the community and been a strong supporter of regional sport. We are excited that our partnership with the Buccaneers could ultimately be the difference for a local footballer achieving their dreams of representing their state or nation”.
With the support of the RSL and other key sponsors, the Buccaneers have strived to keep fees as low as possible. Sponsors include Hervey Bay RSL, McDonalds, SportFirst Hervey Bay and Southern Cross Media. Businesses can support a Buccaneers player through the BUCCS personal sponsorship program. “The personal sponsorship program allows a player to offer a spot on their game shorts to a business that pays a contribution to their fees. We have already had businesses take up this opportunity”. Any business wishing to support a player can email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.footballwidebay.com.au.
The Wide Bay Buccaneers will be playing in Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Gympie and Bundaberg. Their first home game will be 3 February 2018 in Bundaberg against Holland Park Hawkes.
Football Queensland is delighted to announce a partnership between our referees and Total Tools, Australia’s largest independent professional tools retailer.
The Wide Bay Buccaneers have coaching opportunities delivering the 2018 Skill Acquisition Program for Under 9 to Under 12s in Gympie, Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg.
The 2018 SAP will be run in each region training each age group twice a week while they continue to play and train with their local club team. At the end of each term, there will be a SAP carnival where each region will play off against the other regional teams in Wide Bay. The hosting of each carnival will be rotated through the four hubs.
If you are interested in applying for any of these positions, please contact Adrian Elmes: Wide Bay Buccaneers Technical Director: email: email@example.com by 21st December 2017.
A working with children Blue card will be required and either a current FFA coaching qualification or willing to undertake one of the courses during 2018.
