Football Queensland (FQ) Wide Bay wishes to thank Mark Vanner for his significant contribution to football in the region following his resignation from the Board of Directors.
“On behalf of FQ Wide Bay and the Wide Bay football community, I want to acknowledge and thank Mark for his service to the game,” FQ Wide Bay President Tony Trace said.
“Mark has been a prominent advocate for the sport and a strong voice within the community for a long period of time, in particular as Acting President.
“In difficult circumstances for administrators, he was instrumental in getting football back up and running amid COVID-19 restrictions earlier this year.
“Mark consistently demonstrated his care for our clubs, participants and the zone, with a focus on building better governance practices.
“His commitment to developing opportunities for Wide Bay kids and delivering value for all of our members also shone through and is to be applauded.
“On a personal level, I will miss his support and wise council.”
Region General Manager Andy Allan echoed the acknowledgement.
“I would like to join Tony in sincerely thanking Mark, who has been a leading ambassador for football in the Wide Bay area,” Allan said.
“People with his passion and expertise are critical to growing the game and developing our clubs.
“While he may no longer be involved at Board level, I have no doubt he will continue to do great things for football in the years to come.
“Thank you again and we wish you the best of luck for the future.”
