Football Queensland Wide Bay (FQWB) has today announced the 2021 Wide Bay Referee Workshop, to be held on Saturday, 27 February and Sunday, 28 February in Childers.
Mark Simon-Green, Football Queensland’s Senior Officer – Referee Development will host the sessions across the weekend, with an instructor workshop to feature on the first day of the event.
“Football Queensland Wide Bay is delighted to announce our 2021 Wide Bay Referee Workshop, which is set to be a valuable learning experience for our match officials at all levels of the game here in Wide Bay. Not only will the workshops provide an opportunity for referees to further develop their knowledge and skills, it will also contribute to building a friendly, family culture within the referee and wider football community,” General Manager – Central Coast Region Andy Allan said.
“The Wide Bay Referee Workshop is a fantastic example of Football Queensland’s commitment to providing referee development opportunities as we bring together referees, match day coaches (assessors) and mentors for two days of workshop sessions ahead of the 2021 season.”
“It will be great to have Football Queensland’s Mark Simon-Green in attendance to host the Wide Bay Referee Workshop, which will feature a mix of classroom and practical sessions covering topics including interactive learning techniques and the latest Laws of the Game,” FQWB Referee Coach and Development Officer Brad Burton said.
“I encourage all match officials in the region to make the most of this opportunity by registering for the upcoming Wide Bay Referee Workshop to further their development ahead of the 2021 season.”
“Following the successful State Referee Conference held in Brisbane last month, Football Queensland is excited to support the Wide Bay Referee Workshop with our Senior Officer – Referee Development Mark Simon-Green to host the two-day event,” Senior Manager – State Referees Jacqui Hurford said.
“Improving development opportunities for referees and increasing participation numbers by providing greater support to match officials across the state is a real focus for Football Queensland as outlined in the Strategic Plan.
“We look forward to continuing to provide more opportunities for referee development and growth across each of our zones this year.”
