Football Queensland (FQ) has announced the appointment of Andy Allan in the newly created Region General Manager position that incorporates Wide Bay and Central zones.
Based in Wide Bay, Allan’s appointment to the senior role follows consultation with Football Queensland Wide Bay and the local football community, and reflects FQ’s commitment to investing in and growing football across the region.
“The appointment of Andy Allan as Region General Manager for Wide Bay will be a significant boost to the football community as he focuses on improving local service delivery, growing participation numbers, developing more opportunities for women and girls and strengthening local clubs, competitions and pathways,” FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
“Football Queensland has visited Wide Bay on multiple occasions in the last six months, and has considered the feedback gathered throughout these visits and through the Future of Football 2020+ consultation process to determine how best to support the delivery and growth of the local game.
“Andy is going to be a fantastic addition to football in Wide Bay, and he brings valuable experience to the role having previously worked at Football Queensland and more recently as Football Federation Australia’s National Junior Participation Manager.
“The additional investment of a senior resource in the region by Football Queensland is designed to support and enhance a fresh administrative model of the game by connecting local clubs and the zone to improved resource delivery by Football Queensland and the Wide Bay zone.”
Andy Allan will commence his role in Wide Bay from early October.
