Football Queensland Wide Bay (FQWB) is excited to announce the appointment of Martin Wood in the newly created role of Officer – Community Engagement in Wide Bay.
“I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Martin Wood as Officer – Community Engagement as we work to grow participation opportunities and strengthen our engagement with the local football community in the Wide Bay region,” General Manager – Central Coast Region Andy Allan said.
“Martin brings extensive experience to the role having previously worked with Sydney FC as Head Coach of their community program.
“A former player in the NPL, he has also worked as a junior and senior coach at North Sydney United FC including coaching in their Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) program for the last five years.
“Martin will work with national and local program coordinators to deliver state and national initiatives in the Wide Bay region, including school programs, MiniRoos, Walking Football and inclusive programs.
“I’m confident that Martin will be a valuable addition to the team and will help us to continue growing participation opportunities across the region for participants of all ages, backgrounds and abilities in line with Football Queensland’s Strategic Plan.
“The introduction of the newly created role will also allow the zone to increase the number of community engagement activations and initiatives held across the year in another boost for the Wide Bay football community.
“I trust all members of our football family here in Wide Bay will make Martin feel welcome as he settles into his new role.”
