More than 500 participants from 70 junior teams will this weekend participate in the first Football Queensland MiniRoos Carnival to be held in Wide Bay.
The carnival will kick off on Saturday 19 June across three venues at the Fraser Coast Sports Centre in Hervey Bay, Maryborough’s Federation Park and Martens Oval in Bundaberg.
General Manager – Central Coast Region Andy Allan said the MiniRoos Carnival will be a fantastic opportunity for young players to experience a carnival atmosphere.
“This Carnival will be a great opportunity for MiniRoos players across the Wide Bay region to play against players from other centres in the region,” said Allan.
“This weekend will be all about kids getting more game time and more touches on the ball – at no additional cost.
“We have scheduled more than 100 fixtures for Saturday, with each team to play three to four games per day.
“The carnival is all about having fun, making friends and learning the game of football.
“I have no doubt that the players, coaches, parents and spectators will create a great atmosphere in what is set to be a terrific weekend for football in Wide Bay.”
Matches will run for 30 minutes with 15-minute halves allowing five minutes for half-time and five minutes for teams to swap over.
