The inaugural Central Queensland and Wide Bay Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) and Talent Support Program (TSP) Carnival will be held on Saturday, 3 April at the Fraser Coast Sports Precinct in Hervey Bay.
“FQ is thrilled that Central Queensland and Wide Bay will participate in this SAP and TSP Carnival,” said FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci.
“In FQ’s 2020-2022 Strategic Plan, we identified the need to provide high-quality participation experiences and develop pathways for young footballers across the state.
“These SAP and TSP events do exactly that, playing a critical role in the development of young players by providing them an opportunity to compete against their peers from other regions.
“FQ is working hard to ensure that Queensland footballers have equal access to elite programs and development opportunities, no matter where they live.”
FQ General Manager – Central Coast Region, Andy Allan, said that he was looking forward to watching the best youth players from Central Queensland and Wide Bay go head-to-head.
“FQ is proud of the opportunities that are now on offer for participants in regional Queensland and we are extremely excited to be able to hold this tournament at such a fantastic facility,” said Allan.
“This Carnival will provide players in Central Queensland and Wide Bay with an elite level pathway and fantastic development opportunities.”
The one-day Carnival will feature 33 games contested by 25 boys and girls teams from the U9, U10, U11 and U12 SAP age groups and the U13/14, U14 and U15/16 TSP age groups.
